Oct. 17th International Day for the Eradication of Poverty Party

---UN representatives and domestic political VIPs present, Stars figuring Star Stage and charity grand auction

The 15th International Day for the Eradication of Poverty fell on Oct.17th, and the Oct. 17th International Day for the Eradication of Poverty Theme Party co-sponsored by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation and the magazine Fortune China was successfully held.

Mr. Khalid Malik, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, was present and spoke at the party, and member of NPC Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of Jiusan Society, He Kengqin, attended the party and presented medals and certificates to donors. President of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), Duan Yingbi, and Vice Presidents of CFPA, Chen Kaizhi, Jiang Shaogao, and He Daofeng attended the party. Present also were leaders and representatives from over 20 ministries, government departments and organizations including CPC Propaganda Department, State Council Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, The Supreme People’s Prorogurate, Ministry of Railway, Ministry of Science and Technology, PLA Political Headquarters, All-China Association of Industry and Commerce, State IPR Bureau, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Federation of the Disabled and Paralyzed, and celebrities, stars and media. There were approximately 600 in attendance at the party. Olympic Champion Deng Yaping, Popular Singers and Stars Sun Nan, Su Youpeng, Man Wenjun, Chen Hong, and Zhang Yao also gave a volunteer performance. The party was hosted by famous CCTV hosts Ouyang Xiadan and Ma Bin.
The party fell into three chapters: The Light of Life, Walking Hand in Hand, and Asking You to Join, during which exciting auctions were all arranged. Thanks to the great support and active participation of various circles of society, the party raised a total of RMB 15.63 million. The Qing-Ming Dynasty Riverside Scene donated by Zhongjin Jiye Company and the Peacock Blue Tiled Bowls donated by Ms. Luo Yuanyuan were auctioned off to Chairman of Shenzhen Yuelang Technologies Co., Ltd. Chen Huaide and his wife for the high price of RMB 4 million in the name of Shenzhen Yuelang Technologies Co., Ltd.; Stone Warrior Shooting Arrows donated by Olympiad Artist Beleech went to President of Asia-Pacific Area of Suwei International Cosmetics Development Co., Ltd., Ms. Yang Lu for the price of RMB 4 million in the name of Suwei International Cosmetics Development Co., Ltd.; Ode to Olympics co-written and donated by Mr. Li Duo and Mr. Miao Peihong, and the Signed Table tennis paddles donated by Olympic Champion, Deng Yaping both went to Chairman and President of Shenzhen Great China International Group, Mr. Huang Shizai for the price of RMB 3.28 million in the name of his company; The Olympic Long Scroll donated by Mr. Liu Yingchao went to Chairman of Shenzhen Yuelang Technologies Co., Ltd. Chen Huaide and his wife for the high price of RMB 1.5 million in the name of Shenzhen Yuelang Technologies Co., Ltd.; Liu Xiang Signed Sports-suit-and-shoes donated by Liu Xiang went to the CEO of Gelin Haotai Hotel Management Co., Ltd., Ms. Ning Tao for the price of RMB 1 million in the name of the company; The Ode to Beijing Olympics donated by the Honorary President of China Academy of Calligraphy and Culture, Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi, went to Vice President of China Area of PPG Industrial Group, Ms. Yan Caiming in the name of the group; meanwhile, at the party Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Guangdong Association, Mr. Liu Jianming donated RMB 650 thousand to CFPA on behalf of the association; Vice President of Inner Mongolia Mengniu Milk Industry Group, Mr. Wang Jianbang donated RMB 500 thousand in the name of the group; and President of Hong Kong Shunlong Renze Foundation, Mr. Cai Boli donated RMB 100 thousand on behalf of the foundation.

Meanwhile, Great China Poverty Alleviation Publicity Fund was established and announced at the party and the opening ceremony was jointly made by CFPA President, Mr. Duan Yingbi, Shenzhen Great China International Group Chairman and President, Mr. Huang Shizai, and noted singer Sun Nan.
